The widget of the application is installed on the Adobe AIR platform. I've installed that platform and the widget as well and everything worked normally. I recommend re-downloading the installation packages, but this time make sure to disable any download managers that you have installed on your PC.
Download it and uncheck the McAffee offer, then click on the saved file from Software Informer and install it. The application will be available on the desktop.
Note: Adobe Air is compatible with Mac and Windows and apps run on both operating systems.

After I download "Downloading version 1.9 (32-bit) from Software Informer", it asks me to provide a program to open it. Which program?
The platform used to develop Met Office Desktop Widget is Adobe Air. If you don't have the necessary libraries installed, the software will not start.
To overcome this issues, download Adobe Air from the following location: http://get.adobe.com/air/
