When trying to download the Met Office desktop widget, several times, each download is reported as damaged and thus cannot be installed. I am using Vista Ultimate.

Unfortunately, we can't help you resolve your issue as this program has been discontinued by the developer and its web site is not available anymore.
Get this message when trying to install:
"Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author".
Keep trying with different versions, but always get the same msg.
